Workshop 1: Feet and the Jump Board (Reformer)
Next course: 13 April 2024
Workshop 1: Feet and the Jump Board (Reformer)
Given by Susan Arena, 2nd Generation Pilates Master
Our feet form the foundation of our bodies. It is now proven that weakness or instability within the feet will inevitably have a detrimental effect on muscles and joints throughout the body, leading to poor posture and even injury. In this workshop participants will learn to identify defective alignment in feet, ankles and knees and how to prevent such problems from manifesting themselves progressively elsewhere in the body.
The day will start with feet and knee exercises (some of which will be taken from the Jennifer Paynter teacher training programme). These exercises will focus on achieving optimum movement, stability and strength in the feet, ankles and knees, resulting in a vast improvement to posture, balance and overall fitness.
The second part of the day will be dedicated to learning exercises on the Reformer Jump Board. These exercises, done on the Refomer with the use of the Jump Board, will strengthen the feet and legs, work dynamic core control, improve agility and reactivity and also increase stamina.
