Level 4 and Level 5
The Swissbody® Pilates Academy Level 4 and Level 5 Matwork course is designed to teach the Advanced and Super Advanced original Pilates exercises as well as exercises created and/or used at the Swissbody® Pilates Centres over the past 15 years. All of these exercises are taught within the context of the needs of each client or athlete. Teaching skills are studied to reap the maximum benefit out of the exercises with safety and postural alignment remaining of utmost importance.
Who benefits from this course?
All individuals who have completed the Level 2 and Level 3 Matwork course will find this module critical for expanding their knowledge of the Swissbody® Pilates Method and developing their teaching skills to the next level. Swissbody® also accepts students who have completed other Pilates programs with a minimum of 60 hours of course time, at least 60 hours of personal training, an ability to proficiently perform the advanced Pilates matwork and at least 40 hours of observation or teaching experience in a Pilates studio.
Building on the very strong theoretical and practical foundation acquired during the Level 2 and Level 3 Matwork course, this module focuses on developing the practical application of the exercises as well as enhancing teaching practice and skills.

- The “Evolution Chart”
- Early Advanced matwork
- Advanced matwork
- The Rehabilitation Pyramid and importance of the correct approach to rehabilitation
- Super advanced matwork
- Daily practice of all exercises learned
- Daily teaching practice and assessment of progress.
All exercises are studied in-depth; including the name of the exercise, description, goal, correct movement and breathing, primary muscles utilized, watch points, special cases, and imagery as an enriching teaching tool.
Pre-requisites, required study hours & prices
After the course:
Minimum 20 hours of observation at a Swissbody® recognized studio.
Before or after the course:
Current CPR/First Aid Certificate.
30 hours (5 days)
